Digital Platforms & Products

Designing and building public-facing digital platforms through which organisations present themselves, serve their audiences and operate across markets. We work across the full technical lifecycle, from architecture and content structure through interface design, development, integration and deployment.

Built Around the Organisation

A digital platform begins with the organisation it needs to serve. We design the structure around real content, audiences, operational requirements and future development rather than adapting the project to a predetermined template.

Purposeful Design

Interfaces and user journeys are developed around the organisation’s identity, content and communication needs, creating a coherent experience across devices and markets.

Structured for Growth

Content, data and application services are separated into clear layers, allowing the platform to expand without progressively entangling presentation, information and business logic.

Connected by Design

External services, APIs and operational systems are treated as part of the platform architecture from the beginning, giving integrations defined places within the wider system.

A Modern Platform Architecture

Our core stack combines Astro with Cloudflare’s developer platform, giving us a compact architecture capable of supporting both highly efficient content-led websites and richer digital applications.

Astro

Application + content architecture

Astro provides the central application and content architecture. Typed content collections, reusable components and structured data models keep large platforms coherent, while component-scoped and global CSS provide a direct visual system without an additional styling framework.

Pages can be prepared in advance for rapid global delivery while routes requiring live information, personalisation or authentication can execute dynamically.

Cloudflare

Runtime + infrastructure + delivery

Cloudflare provides the deployment, application and infrastructure layer. Static assets and server-side functionality can operate together through Workers across Cloudflare’s global network, with platform services connected directly through native bindings.

This gives a project access to relational data, object storage, email, background processes, scheduled operations, access control, media services, analytics and application security within the same infrastructure.

Core Technologies

Astro

Application architecture, component development and structured content.

TypeScript

Typed application logic, content models, APIs and platform integrations.

Cloudflare Workers

Global application runtime, APIs, dynamic routes and server-side functionality.

D1

Relational application data.

R2

Files, documents, media, uploads and protected digital assets.

KV · Queues · Workflows · Durable Objects

Distributed data, asynchronous processing, multi-stage operations and coordinated state.

React

Selective richer interfaces and interactive application components.

Python · FastAPI

Specialised APIs, data processing, automation and Python-based application services.

Integrations

Platforms can connect with the services an organisation already uses and with new services introduced as its requirements develop.

Payments & Commerce

Checkout, payments, subscriptions, transaction events, order processing and digital delivery.

Scheduling & Booking

Appointments, availability, reservations, calendars, reminders and confirmation processes.

Customer & Business Systems

CRM platforms, enquiry pipelines, customer records, accounting, fulfilment and internal operational systems.

Content & Media

Headless content management, editorial systems, asset libraries, external content sources and media delivery.

Identity & Access

Customer accounts, memberships, client portals, staff areas, authentication and protected resources.

Data & Automation

External APIs, live datasets, reporting, scheduled processes, background operations and event-driven workflows.

Architecture Before Build

The structure of a platform is established before individual features begin to accumulate. We map the relationships between content, data, routes, external systems and public interfaces into a technical model that can be understood beyond the development team.

Search & Structured Data

Metadata, routing, canonical relationships and structured schemas are designed into the information architecture so that content can be interpreted consistently across search systems and markets.

Localisation

Language relationships, regional content, routing and taxonomy are modelled at platform level for organisations operating across multiple territories.

Analytics & Privacy

Measurement requirements and data flows are defined as part of the architecture, allowing useful behavioural information to be collected while maintaining a privacy-conscious platform design.

Integration Architecture

APIs, webhooks and external systems are mapped as defined interfaces within the platform, creating clear boundaries between internal functionality and third-party services.

Global Delivery & Protection

Platforms are delivered through Cloudflare’s global network, bringing content and application logic close to the people using them.

TLS, DNSSEC, denial-of-service mitigation, application firewall controls, bot management, rate limiting and human verification can operate at the network and application layers. Access controls can protect staging environments and internal tools, while forms, APIs, secure downloads and transactional communications can run through the same platform infrastructure.

Security is therefore part of the architecture from the beginning, alongside delivery, data and application functionality.

Designed for Ownership

The platforms we build are intended to remain understandable and maintainable as organisations change around them.

Content models, data structures and integration points are documented. Internal teams receive a coherent platform rather than an accumulation of isolated features, and knowledge transfer forms part of delivery.

The result is infrastructure that can continue through new content, new markets, new integrations and future development without requiring its underlying structure to be rediscovered each time.

Technical Advisory

Platform delivery can also sit alongside independent technical advisory.

We support organisations evaluating digital architecture, CMS ecosystems, implementation approaches and third-party technology, including contributions to RFI and RFP processes, Statements of Work, vendor assessments, data architecture and security requirements.
